Super Fresh Mouthwash!

Mix up a batch of super fresh mouthwash in a jar!

1 cup of water

2 Teaspoons Aloe Vera juice

6 drops peppermint essential oil

two drops aniseed essential oil

Mix and store in a covered container.

Shake before using and try to use up within two weeks!

Fall, Spring or Anytime Cleaning Recipes!

All purpose cleaner for anywhere disinfection!
  • Boil 3 cups of water
  • Add 2 teaspoons of borax and ½ cup white vinegar.
  • Mix and allow to cool.
  • Pour into a spray bottle.
  • Add ½ teaspoon (or 30 drops) of your favorite clean smell (Grapefruit, Orange, Lime, Lemon, Pine, etc.)

Mix for Focus and Balance

      • 1 drop Peppermint

Deter Head Lice and Other Critters with 100% Essential Oil

Sadly, back to school might have your children bringing home some hitchhikers in their scalp.

The following blend of 100% essential oils will rid them of these little critters.

15 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil

20 Drops Tea Tree Essential Oil

10 drops Thyme Essential Oil

Mix with 3 ounces of grapeseed oil or a light olive oil and massage into your little one’s scalp.

Another critter-ridder: you can also make a spray from 2.5 ounces of distilled water and one half ounce of witch hazel (available at any drug store)

Massage Oil Recipes Using 100% Essential Oils

The following recipes are combinations of 100% essential oils and are used to release soreness, aches and pains.

Combine with 1 tablespoon grape seed or any of your other favourite carrier oils.


5 drops eucalyptus essential oil + 5 drops pine essential oil

Stress Busting:

5 drops eucalyptus essential oil + 5 drops lavender essential oil

Massage the oil into your upper chest, neck and shoulders.

Breathe deeply.

Your Sense of Smell

Sniff, sniff, sniff. 

That is first thing that people do when they see a bottle of Orchard Valley Essential Oils or a bar of our soap. If you come to Kelowna’s Farmers Market, you will see a half a dozen or more people huddled around our booth, sniffing away to their heart’s delight.

Smell is the sense that is your most highly personal. The same scent will evoke very different reactions for you than for a friend. You can smell to relax, smell to uplift, smell to warm up, smell to cool down, smell to cure headaches, smell yourself right to another place and time.
